He is a 16 year old from a upper middle class neighborhood. His parents are divorced and he is struggling in school. He sings in his spare time and dreams of becoming a Broadway star.

She is a forty year old stay-at-home mother who has three children. Her husband has his own business in construction. They sometimes find it hard to pay their bills on time.
Rajiv Singh
He is a, 11 month old infant who immigrated to New York from Malaysia with his parents. They came here seeking better health care for Rajiv who will eventually need a kidney transplant for a normal life.
